Local’s life
The most lasting travel experiences are often those where we had the chance to share with the locals, break the distance and spend some time sharing and learning. Spend a day with a shepherd, explore the local handcrafts, meet the artisans, enjoy local festivals…, dive into the local culture!
Speaking the language is a big help, but not a complete barrier thanks to the help of your local guides that will facilitate and create the cultural bridge to enjoy these experiences of local life.
These experiences can only be organized with time, for small parties and a few times a year, as our rule is that to keep a local experience true and authentic it cannot become a “tourist product” we cannot repeat every week. This would transform local life into a show.
These are some of the experiences we can help you live
Shepherd for a day
Pyrenees, Picos de Europa. Extremadura
Spend a day with a shepherd and his herd, learning about their way of life and their vision of the territory. We can organize varied experiences around shepherding, from a day with the shepherds of the Picos de Europa still making cheese in the summer pastures, to one or various days walking with the nomadic herds of the Pyrenees or the transhumant shepherds of Extremadura.
Traditional Festivals with a local
Spain and Portugal
Spain is famous for its festivals and celebrations, but these are sometimes difficult to enjoy on your own, without a local to drive you through the crowds and translate what you are seeing. The Feria de Abril in Seville, Easter parades, the San Fermines in Pamplona…they are all lived more deeply in the company of a local.
Language immersion
Pyrenees, Asturias, Andalucia, Portugal
Are you a Spanish or Portuguese language student? There are creative and effective ways to practice and improve your skills while discovering the landscape with our bilingual guides or participating in activities with the locals.
Artcrafts and Traditional Works
Spain and Portugal
Are you keen on exploring a particular type of handcraft or traditional work? Spain and Portugal have a rich heritage of varied arts, from pottery to tile painting, from woodcarving to embroidery. You can also experience wine and cork harvest, traditional agriculture or farming.
